PD this week was Blogs. On Wednesday night, we were looking at:
- setting up a ‘Blog’
- ‘posting’ a message
- adding an image /mp3 to a ‘post’
How to Start a Blog
- Go to www.edublogs.org
- Create your own blog name – title – create
- Print or write your password down
- When in Admin section, go to:
- Users – update password
- Change Presentation / Theme
Adding a Post
- ‘wp-admin’ added to blog address
- Dashboard – Write a post – Save or Publish
- Some Themes let you add admin options
- NB: To be able to make a quick post, at the bottom, right click on “Press It” to put a link in favourites
Adding an Image

The image must be uploaded first, then added to a post “send to editor”
Same for Podcasts – songbird.mp3 (Do you like the song?)
If you set up a blog let me know, I will comment and count time towards PD.
Need a reason to start a blog, and now you have one. A blog is a great place to share what your students are learning, how they feel about what they are doing, and a collection of their knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences. What they did, who with, how it was done and what outcomes are evident. Podcasts, PowerPoints, Pictures, Plus more can all be included.

To support Julie’s outstanding presentstion on WebQuests, I though I might put a few links together fror staff to look at.

If these inspire you to learn more, perhaps we can get Juli to do her presentation again (or a PodCast?) and we can show her examples.
Here is the template she started with: webquest_index.htm
What do you think?
StartPages are simply that – the page you start on when you go on the Internet that contains sections or modules that you want. Graham Wegner in his presentation at the Web 2.0 Showcase talked about Start Pages. Attached is a brief version of what he spoke about and documented. Thank you Graham.
